In 1978 ,The body of a man was found in local woods adjacent to where i used to live . Gary Evans ,38, dog walker found the body at 6,am on the morning of 3rd December. police immediately launched an appeal into the circumstances of the mans death. subsequent leads and information left no clues to the mans identity or clues to his previous whereabouts.
The authorities recovered several personal belongings that were secreted beneath his body. amongst the items was a Maxwell VHS video cassette. The contents of the video were mystifying for there was no video filmed. In the background there was several pieces of music.
the VHS was carefully wrapped in a hessian sackcloth and waterproofed inside several plastic carrier bags , obviously this tape was very precious to the deceased.
The music itself is of an otherworldly nature , snippets of voices and ethereal sounds leak and bleed into the ether.
In 1986 the video was purchased in a box of bric a brac at a police auction. I gained access to the tape through a mutual friend in 2010.

I recorded a digital master of the tape in 2016 , proceeded to clean up the sound using various audio processors. The actual tape has since long gone , leaving this haunting legacy .
who was the mysterious vagrant who was buried in an unmarked grave ? and who was Marianne and why did he sing long live Marianne.

The case has long been closed , but has left more questions than answers , on this , the 45th anniversary of the finding.
